What to Look For in These Photographs

Photographs of finished wallpaper flatter almost everyone, which is why it is worth knowing what to examine. Look at the corners first: an internal corner should carry the pattern around with a hairline overlap, never a butt joint that opens as the building moves. Then look at where the paper meets ceilings, baseboards and door casings, because a clean scribe there is much harder than a straight run in the middle of a wall. Finally, look for the seams. In a good install you should have to hunt for them, and in raking afternoon light they should not read as vertical stripes.

The mix here is roughly half residential and half commercial, which reflects how the business actually runs. A single accent wall in Coral Way and a hotel corridor package on the beach side ask for different materials and different logistics, but both come down to the same three things: honest substrate preparation, correct panel sequencing, and someone checking the work in raking light before the drop cloths come up.
