The questions we get asked most often in Miami, answered the way we would answer them on the phone — including the parts that are inconvenient for us.
We can, or you can. Many clients buy their own paper from a designer or a showroom in the Design District, and we hang it. If you would rather we handle it, we order through trade accounts with major wallcovering mills and pass the trade price on, which usually saves 10 to 25 percent against retail. Either way we confirm roll count and dye lot before the install date.
A single accent wall of 60 to 120 square feet is normally a half day. A powder room takes one full day because of the cuts around fixtures. A standard bedroom or dining room runs one to two days, and a full high-rise condo interior can take four to eight days. Removal of old paper adds roughly a day per two rooms.
Yes. Walker Premium Wallpaper is licensed, bonded and carries general liability plus workers' compensation coverage. We issue certificates of insurance naming the building, association or general contractor as additional insured, which is what most Brickell and Aventura condo boards require before they will approve an elevator reservation.
Almost always. Hanging new paper over old is a short-term fix that telegraphs every seam underneath. We steam and strip the existing paper, scrape residual adhesive, wash the substrate, patch and sand any damage, then apply a pigmented wallcovering primer so the new paper releases cleanly the next time around.
Most Miami-area residential installs land between 4 and 9 dollars per square foot for labor, depending on pattern match, ceiling height and substrate condition. Grasscloth, silk and hand-printed papers sit at the top of that range because they need paste-the-wall handling and exact panel sequencing. Removal is quoted separately, typically 2 to 4 dollars per square foot.
Non-woven and traditional paper, vinyl and Type II commercial vinyl, grasscloth and sisal, silk, linen and other fabric-backed goods, peel-and-stick, and digitally printed murals supplied as numbered panels. We also hang lining paper over rough plaster, which is common in older Coral Way and Coconut Grove houses.
Yes. We work throughout Miami-Dade and into south Broward, including Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Aventura, Key Biscayne and Coral Springs. Travel inside that radius is included in the quote. For projects further out we will still come and look, and we will tell you honestly if a mobilization charge applies.

It does, and it is the single most common reason installs fail here. High humidity keeps adhesive open longer, so panels can creep if they are hung too fast, and concrete block exterior walls carry more moisture than framed interior partitions. We test wall moisture before priming, choose adhesives suited to the substrate, and keep the air conditioning running during and after the install so the paper dries evenly.
Yes, with the right material. Powder rooms are straightforward and take almost any paper. Full bathrooms with a shower and kitchens behind a cooktop need vinyl or a coated non-woven rather than an uncoated paper or grasscloth, plus a moisture-resistant primer and good extraction. We will tell you honestly if the paper you have chosen will not survive the room.
Clear small items, wall art and window treatments from the work area, and empty anything mounted on the wall being papered. We move and cover larger furniture ourselves and protect the floors. Keep pets out of the room while adhesive is wet, and leave the air conditioning on. If parking or elevator access is restricted, tell us before the day so we can book it.
Residential paper hung on a properly prepared wall typically looks good for 10 to 15 years, and Type II commercial vinyl in a corridor is rated for heavier wear over a similar period. Lifespan is decided far more by preparation and by sun exposure than by the price of the paper. Direct Florida sunlight will fade almost any print, so on south and west-facing walls we suggest UV-filtering window film.

Substrate condition, ceiling height, sun exposure and the specific paper you have chosen all change the recommendation, and guessing at them over the phone helps nobody. Send a couple of photographs with your enquiry and you will get a far more useful answer than a generic range.
We also have no interest in talking anyone into wallpaper. There are rooms where paint is the better call, papers that will not last in the room they were chosen for, and walls that need remedial work before any decorative finish makes sense. You will hear that from us before you spend money, not after.
